Recently, an @osmosiszone governance proposal created a new supercharged liquidity stATOM/ATOM pool. While this new pool provides better trade execution for users, the original stATOM/ATOM xyk pool will continue to receive external incentives. Quick explanation 👇 To be clear, this is the new stATOM pool: 👉 https://t.co/ftQKlsO6Kw And this is the old stATOM pool: 👉 https://t.co/7vlIG7993q The old stATOM pool continues to serve as the oracle price for stATOM. That means Umee, Shade, Mars, Kujira, Demex, and Tashi depend on the price of stATOM as determined by that pool. As such, sufficient liquidity in the old stATOM pool is necessary to deter price manipulation. And for that reason, external incentives will continue to be directed at the old pool. Users who provide liquidity to the new pool will be eligible to receive internal OSMO incentives, but only users in the old pool will receive external incentives. Within the next few months, the stATOM oracle price source will switch from the old pool to the new pool. At that time, external incentives will likewise be switched to the new pool. Cosmos Hub update As of 8/23, @stride_zone joined @Neutron_org as the second chain to leverage the Cosmos Hub’s validator set and security through Replicated Security. Neutron serves as a CosmWasm extension to the Cosmos Hub and Stride enables liquid staking for various Cosmos based networks and assets. Replicated Security refers to the sharing of the full Cosmos Hub validator set with another chain, permissioned by a governance vote. This setup allows smaller market cap networks to “rent” security from larger networks. With a robust validator set and a substantial market cap for the ATOM token, the Cosmos Hub is poised to offer Replicated Security to additional networks, along with other shared security mechanisms. Replicated security and other components of ATOM 2.0 should theoretically drive value accrual to the $ATOM token for ‘renting out’ security and improving capital efficiency.

In the Cosmos, separate teams always look out for each other. Yesterday, the Stride chain was flooded with transactions and got clogged up. Devs from @SkipProtocol immediately jumped in to help out, and @Notionaldao + @Informalinc also offered to lend a hand. Thanks to everyone's rapid help, the problem was quickly sorted out and there was no harm done. No funds were ever at risk. The helpful and collaborative spirit of Cosmos is possibly its most valuable asset 🙂
